The Parallax series marks a shift away from the bold outlined works of Darren’s earlier studio output. Line-work becomes more selective, allowing space for ambiguity and open composition.
Each painting is framed by a deep, bevelled border that draws focus toward a central field. These internal windows are offset and contained, creating tension between structure and movement.
The series holds a sense of immediacy and energy, drawing from the instinctive clarity of early mark-making while maintaining compositional control.
