Surface Studies

An open painting series focused on process, texture and surface.

Each work begins with a bright, pastel base layer, forming a vivid ground for monochrome topcoats built through layering and spray application.

The series marks a shift in palette while introducing a fine, speckled texture created through aerosol. These dispersed marks sit against flatter forms, creating tension between density and air.

Despite the richness of surface, the compositions retain a measured stillness, encouraging slower attention and close looking.
