The Quarantine Artworks draw loose inspiration from the nautical flag alphabet, re-imagined in monochrome.
Traditionally used for communication at distance, the flags are abstracted into a series of geometric compositions, stripped back to form, contrast and texture. The result is a 26-piece collection that signals the idea of communication, imagination and connection without relying on literal representation.
While Darren’s practice is often associated with bold colour, this series uses restraint to highlight the strength of form and process, pointing toward the infinite possibilities of an unbounded imagination.
