Having spent the past 3+ months with little/no safe access to my studio over in Woolwich, I had been working way from the corner desk in the kitchen of my partners house in North London. I made the most of the time throughout my Creativity under Quarantine project and even produced a new micro-site to go along with the 26+ paintings. I’ll pop a link below:

The project embodied many of the values I hold in such high importance in my practice and what an important time to share this. When we open the door to possibility and allow our curiosities to act more playfully, our worlds can expand as far and as wide as we let our imaginations roam. So as you can imagine, the project is filled with process videos and paintings with all sorts of object from around the home.
Being back in my studio with space to think in quiet, away from it all and being back surrounded by the past 2+ years worth of work.. well, it got my thinking..
For some, paintings are limited to just being products. Trade-able items, bought and sold.
For me, looking around my studio I’m surrounded not by products but by recordings. Recordings of a man passionately obsessed with playfulness being the fuel to get towards free-thought and away from self-consciousness. Recordings of all the ‘what ifs’ and moments of invention through curiosity. My therapy, laboratory and dojo.
One of the main goals of these recordings is to encourage others to re-energise this playful and curious mindset and apply it to their own everyday lives. Since we become what we surround ourselves with; these paintings, these recordings, act as quite powerful reminders of the limitless possibilities of the unchained imagination.
In giving these pieces a new home, you’re engaging in quite a beautiful cycle and one I’m proud to have dedicated the past 10 years and indeed the rest of my life to.
