Parallax 2.0 Backgammon

For his latest collaborations with Purling London, Darren John has produced a Backgammon Set following from his ‘Parallax 2.0’ series of works from late 2017. This particular piece features a composition made from a close crop from a previous painting, allowing for perfect harmony between the artwork’s forms and the set’s function. The gold and monochrome work has been applied utilising brush and sea sponge, and is consciously finished with a combination of both sharp and textural edges.

Materials include Boxwood, leather, chrome, lacquer.

Purling London Art Games are individually hand painted by specially commissioned British and international artists and no two sets are the same. Hand-made in London, each Art Backgammon is a contemporary, one-off and playful centrepiece.
